This week we play games that never left Japan. Matt eats a bad hamburger for a shitty prop joke with Donald Land, Cody plays what I can only assume is an iPad game from 1995 in Segata Sanshiro Shinken Yūgi, and Nikki worships the devil and also she plays some weird NES game in Devil World!
Luckily, we humans have evolved the ability to repress trauma but today we trigger horrible memories of childhood! Matt is John Platoon, master of the platoon, ready to platoon around all damned day in Platoon, Cody goes on a secret mission from Charles Xavier to exterminate all the impure blood in the world in X-Men, and Nikki just makes us really disappointed in the Genesis in Cosmic Spacehead.
This week we take guilty pleasure in enjoying games that others just didn’t appreciate! Nikki lives in the city but not to worry, she knows she has to survive in Sonic R, Cody clangs his Butt against your hitboxes in Graffiti Kingdom, and Matt smells like blood and violence so you know he has been betrayed in Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance.
This week we challenge each other just like on Nick Arcade. We play tiny snippets of various games, some of them even blindfolded!
This week our new ex-friend, Amber, decided to show how much she hates wishes we would stop talking to by picking our games for us. Nikki plays a game with so many vines you’ll wish the episode was six seconds in Snow White in Happily Ever After, Matt finds that the only way to win is through sexism in Belle’s Quest, Dylan tries to wrap enemies up in his gooey white secretions in The Adventures of Lolo, and Cody has us all wanting to take a trip to the glue factory Crystal’s Pony Tale.
It’s episode 50, and to celebrate, we’ve taken clips from past episodes that didn’t actually get released! Matt unleashes his acromegaly-fueled Kamehameha on the Son of God in the You Testament. Nikki pushes trees down with her head – in real life she just uses her titanic punches – The Land Before Time: Into The Mysterious Beyond. Dylan very, very slowly returns Godzilla to land of wind and ghost to fight for everlasting peace in Super Godzilla. Cody donkey kicks an oboe or something in Wayne’s World. And finally, Matt time travels to 6trillion BC to take off his panties in Time Gal.
This episode, we picked games based entirely on their covers! Soon Matt will have bones of steel in Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Nikki is clotheslined by an anime in Cutie Suzuki, Dylan finds a holocube in Flashback, and Cody is BUILDING UP to something unimpressive in Cho Aniki: Legend of Holy Protein for the PS2.
This week, Matt talks a lot and then it gets into Rom Hack time! ! Matt does not really love lamp in The Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds, Cody is officially the shittiest of us at Mega Man in Mega Man in the Mushroom Kingdom, and Nikki learns to avoid the tip in Not So Super Sonic 2.
This week on Cartridge Blowers Matt bids us a temporary farewell (kinda) and we try our hand at some TV show themed games! Dylan knocks out Daria in Beavis and Butthead, Cody unleashes havok in the Animaniacs, Matt makes us wonder why they do not just kill Gilligan and Nikki hits up Night Rider. All of this and more in Episode 13!
This week we learn to judge a video game by its ridiculous cover! Nikki tries to shatter ShatterHand. Cody gets crude with the game Two Crude Dudes. Dylan looks at an obscure gem called World of Warcraft and Matt gets some claw in DinoCity!
