This week on Cartridge Blowers, we get X-Treeeeme! Cody is so F-Zero it hurts and does a nosegrab snailfish in Sonic Riders, Nikki dresses like a pile of dirty laundry and listens to rad tunes in Tommy Moe’s Winter Extreme: Skiing and Snowboarding, Dylan tries to become one with the powder in 1080 Snowboarding, and Matt gets super-sloppy doin’ ollies in OlliOlli.
This week we play games that never made it out of Japan! Matt drives his irritating stick awkwardly into a fallopian tube to save his family in Kururin Squash, Dylan participates on robot battles that seem to rely a little too much on dice rolls in Custom Robo, Cody reveals how much better your mom is than him at Tetris in Tetris Battle Gaiden, and Nikki…uhh…well…Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland! Whatever!
This week we dive into comic book games for a second time! Cody and Matt punch cars and forklifts because that counts as saving the world I think in Marvel Heroes, Nikki proves just how fragile a godlike cosmic being can be in Silver Surfer, and Cody complains about the realistic physics behind attaching super-strong spider webbing to skyscrapers and propelling yourself with said webbing in Ultimate Spider-Man.
This week, we have stared too long into the abyss and now it stares back into us, for we have played what some may consider: The Worst Games Ever Made. Matt calls on the power of the dolphin in Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis, Nikki eats candy-shelled vomit and gets buried alive like the game she was playing in ET, Cody lives through a riot in American McGee Bad Day LA, and Dylan rides to Hell in Ride To Hell: Retribution.
This week we played games that had, at one point or another, been given Game of the Year awards! Matt walks into a weird set of balls-related coincidences in Metroid Prime, Nikki is the Queen of Grappling (but we already knew that) in Bionic Commando, and Cody inhales poison gas and this time its not just our fantasy in X-Com: Enemy Unknown.
This week we drive another nail into the coffin of dead consoles as we play the last games released for them! Matt sits on a mountain of rotting fruit in the Gamecube release of Ratatouille. Cody takes a long crawl through a space colon in the 3DO thriller known as Shock Creature and Dylan moseys on down to the 90s in Lucky Luke for the SNES! All of this and more in another thrilling episode!
This week, it is all about games based on the Simpsons! Dylan tries to slaughter a cat in Itchy and Scratchy. Nikki is virtually wanting to kill herself in Virtual Bart, Cody runs over citizens in Simpsons Road Rage and Matt wishes someone would take a folding chair to his head in the Simpsons Wrestling.
