This week on Cartridge Blowers we take a look at games that were only released in Japan – until they weren’t! Matt plays as an evil version of a hero of justice which has never happened in any media before in Rockman and Forte! It’s dishonorable to jump into a luchador’s mouth unless you do a triple moonsault off the top rope, but Cody does it anyway in Doki Doki Panic! And Nikki introduces us to Pete and Danny, forever my OTP, in The Firemen.
This time, we play games considered to be “the worst ever.” Nikki drops a motorcycle on a monkey and that’s a crime in my book, young lady. You’re going to PSPrison. It’s Dragonball Evolution! Cody gets stomped to death by horses – should’ve listened to that fortune teller – in Athena! And Matt plays what some scientists would classify as a “video game” and others would classify as “a big poopy dooky pile” in Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing!
This week we play historical video games! Yes! Matt travels to the Roman invasion of Britannia to throw a human head at a guy and scream a lot in Wulverblade! Cody is stuck in the Civil War, showing the superiority of house over cannon, in North and South! And Nikki is stuck in ancient Japan where afros were super big, I guess? In Way of the Samurai!
This week we judge games by their covers! Cody is Wink Ballfield, a man out of time and a man out of banjos, in Phalanx! Nikki punches down a brick wall but that’s actually just a normal Friday Night for her, then she plays Brawl Brothers! And Matt has rippling muscles made only for octopi in The ULTIMATE Stuntman!

This week we hack the planet with Rom hacks! Matt fights a piranha plant and a camera in Super Mario 64: Last Impact! Nikki trains for a week to not die which I guess is what we all do 24/7 in Kaizo Mario Bros 3! And Cody got greedy and played two games: First, Bulbasaur calls him a bitch in Pokemon Go: GTA Edition and then Sonic makes him his bitch in Robotnik’s Creature Capture!
This week we play board games in VIDEO GAME FORM! Heihachi Mishima looks like he’s gotta take a wicked shit when Cody plays Pac-Man Fever! Knuckles has an accident and man that’s two shit jokes in a row so let’s go for the trifecta, but yeah, Matt plays Sonic Shuffle. And a dangerous robotic AI destroys various united states military vehicles and it all looks like a big bag of baby dooks when Nikki plays Battleship!
This week we’re playing games based on television shows! Master Splinter contacts April so he can drown her without witnesses when Cody plays Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash-Up! Matt plays a game based on a show where a guy plays games sometimes based on shows and now my brain hurty in Retro Game Challenge 2! And Nikki misses her opportunity to go to space camp which means she’ll never burn up in re-entry and I’m gonna have to get my money back from the psychic in Double Dare.
This week we play games based around anime. Nikki pounds some pussy (except for when it gets hit by warm water) in Ranma 1/2: The Treasure of the Red Cat Gang! Cody talks to the hand and the hand talks back so see all the doctors please Vampire Hunter D! And Matt falls asleep and wakes up on mushrooms which I think is how he was conceived in Little Nemo: The Dream Master!
